'Gown Rail' 1980 Sindy Scenesetter

The 'Gown Rail' was a "must-have" for fashion lovin' Sindy. Here she could hang her favourite fashions on beautiful display in her bedroom, or roll it along on little convenient wheels to the catwalk.

It had a metal hanging pole, a shoe rack for four pairs of shoes on one side and a full length mirror and drawer (see next photo) on the other side.

It came fully equipped with 6 blue coat hangers, one red dress (reuse of Funtime Sindy 1978) two pairs of boots in brown and white, yellow mules, blue sandals, red court shoes and dark brown tassel shoes (that somehow looks black in this photo).

1968 Sindy's Bedside Table (and Tray)

Sindy was given a bedside table, with a lamp that really lit up, and a breakfast tray with adjustable legs. A neat little breakfast set was included with all the necessary bits one needs.

Here shown with the legs folded.

If you ever visit the UK, you will find that the silver teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug are still very much in use in ordinary pubs and cafes. 1:1 scale naturally, or else we would be in trouble, haha!

I haven't tried to assembly the lights, so don't know if they still work. The brown box thingy holds the batteries.

The first thing that hit me (being a Sindy nerd) when I laid eyes on this box cover was the grandfather clock. The interior is that of the "Super Home" and somewhere along the line, the grandfather clock was replaced by a modern (1983 time) floor lamp. (see photo below)

Tele Sindy Studio 1985 Box

The 'Tele Studio' Set was a true celebration of the TV era of that time. We got major quiz and game shows, pop music videos and of course, the more serious news and the ever so fascinating weather channel. You remember how they scored a 50% accuracy?

People still had faith in them and were mighty upset all those 50% of the times they were wrong. Gosh! --But the weather girls were always very cute.

Sindy is never wrong though.

Hang in there Flickr fellows!

"Hello and welcome to Sky NEWS with me Judy Goldfarb. Today we're going to discus a few burning topics, like -What is going on with FLICKR?!"

*Sky NEWS jingle plays*

"What do we think of the new Flickr design? And what was wrong with the old layout we'd like to know?

It has caused tremendous headaches all around the Flickr community and some has been reported leaving the site screaming with anxiety.

We have been asked to apologize for lack of response and shortage of communication from the Cooperstown's head office, since they suffered a few brain cells to this particular activity, but they will STAY PUT."

The manager stated: WE WON'T LEAVE FLICKR! Hey, we've even come to both understand and enjoy the new design.

"Perhaps true, but the new layout makes it harder to keep track of one another, so stay on your toes out there and pay each other house calls, just to be sure no one is being missed."

*Sky NEWS jingle plays*

"Speaking of house calls... The Blythe invasion has gone wild in Cooperstown and some of the house calls have been more or less approved by the house owners. So... bla bla bla... adorable... bla bla bla.. wicked... bla bla.. lock your door."

*Sky NEWS jingle plays*

"Our favourite girl Sindy turns 60 this year! Woot woot! The very first Sindy walked the earth in September 1963, more about that closer to The Big Celebration.

That's all for tonight. Please let us know how you cope with the new Flickr layout. Take care!"

"What did I post the 27th of May in 2022?" Blythe a Day May 27

Turns out, NOTHING, haha!

One could have thought I checked that before I picked this date. But silly me didn't.

I did however post a photo of a Bellajoy, Sindy and Fleur the 28th of May in 2022

Then, since this is a Blythe group, I decided to include the photos closest to this date including a Blythe.

Little Hattie is The Demolition Girl the 30th of April 2022.

And Tina feeds her pet dinosaurs the 11th of June 2022. Which also happens to be my very first entry in this BaD group. (Thank you Karin for inviting me!)

(3/6) Dusty enters.

Dusty didn't wait for anyone to come to the door, she just walked in with a hoity; "Hahahaha Hah!! Is anyone home!?"

Sindy: We're in he.... hup! *Almost tripping over Feebee.*

Feebee: I looove your legwarmers!

Darling: *To Dusty* Hello, how do you do? I'm Darling.

Dusty: HA ha ha ha! You got a little something there on your leg Sindy. Ah, you must be the new gall with the big feet. Pleased to meet you. I'm Dusty!

Sindy: That's very sweet of you I'm sure.

Dusty: Ey?

Sindy: No I was addressing the little Blythe. How good of you to come Dusty. Do you have the goods?

Dusty: I brought two pairs.

Darling: How lovely!

Feebee: Is it cookies!?

Dusty: Ha ha ha!!

TAG-GAME: First doll of year - 2023

I've gotten a few dolls already in 2023, more than I thought, so I had to do some history research amongst my purchases.

And the winner is: Darling by Famosa in Spain!

I knew absolutely nothing about her, just fell in love with that pleasant smile and 'Dynasty' worthy hair and had to have her. I still know nothing about her to be honest. I think she was sold in the early 80s.

This might be her stock outfit. At least that's the one she had on when she arrived in Cooperstown.

****No, it's not a photo angle issue. Her feet are that huge. We're talking Dusty big. Or Paul, though I think his feet are daintier.****

***********

Darling: I received this cute invitation card from someone named Sindy. I think I'm in the right house, but where is she?

Me: Oh, there are hundreds of Sindys here dear, eh Darling. It could be anyone of them. Just sit tight and one will come along shortly.

Darling: Gracias!

I was tagged by DuDidier, thank you darling, eh dear!

Please feel free to play along with us! Hopefully you will know what doll you got first in 2023 right away, haha!

"2 - Blue" Blythe a Day November 2

Aja: Hello, your neighbour Lillibet told us you should hand over all the blue stuff to us at once!

Sindy: Goodness, did she now?

Tina: Look! A bunch o' Balloons!

Sindy: How peculiar. I was just on the phone with her and she told me to do no such thing.

Aja: .. Um, she must have forgot. Anyhow, that slice of cake will suffice. Hand it over please.

Tina: *Overexcited.* Balloons! Balloons! Balloons! *Not knowing what foot to stand on.*

Sindy: Those balloons are green love. Weren't you looking for blue?

Tina: There's some blue on it... honestly!

Sindy: Tell you what. How about you two go over to my neighbours house and ask them? I will give you a few things, not the cake! But you can have the balloons.

Tina: Yay! Thank you ever so much!

Aja: Bah.

******************************

Alright, so in November we're doing colour combinations and collages. I tried to explain the rules to my little Blythes, but they kept tickling each other and didn't listen at all.

How did they do:
Not a lot of props - Fail
Not a clashing background - Fail
One doll per picture - Fail
One colour of choice - Win!

Hm... no improvement.

“Beast of Burden” Blythe a Day October 22

Sindy: Aww, my little beast of burden! Did you carry all these Halloween goodies in here all by yourself?

Hattie: Yes I did. *Phew!* But I'm not a beastie, they are! They have been following me this whole time.

Sindy: So it's them who spilled the candy?

Hattie: .. Yes.

Sindy: And ate a big slice of every cake?

Hattie: They were beastly hungry...

Sindy: Ha ha, I see. And very naughty.

Hattie: Very. You should toss them out.

(Part 1/2) Go fish?

Sindy changed into her dress while Marion unpacked the cooler.

Sindy: Where's the chicken?

Marion: In the other cooler, I hope. It's in the buggy.

Sindy: Ah. I see it.

Marion: Speaking of -where-. Where's that Paul you found?

Sindy: *snicker* Oh him? Probably still where I put him.

Marion: And where's that?

Sindy: Under the water.

Marion: Sindy!!!

(Part 2/2) And there goes Paul.

Sindy: Ha ha!! Don't worry Marion. He had his life vest on. He'll float. Up. Eventually.

Marion: Tsk, tsk! Sometimes I can't tell if you're joking or not.

Sindy: Oh look! There he goes now.

They both follow Lifeguard Paul, skip over the rocks towards town, with their eyes.

Marion: Handsome fella. What did he do in order for you to drown him?

Sindy: He asked if I needed help with the zipper in my wetsuit.

Marion: But that's in the front!

Sindy: Exactly.

1985 'Fun Buggy' Sindy Scenesetter

'Fun Buggy' with Wet Suit and Surf Board.

The faithful yellow Buggy got updated in 1985 to this white dune conqueror. It's a sturdy chunk of plastic, ready to endure all of Sindy's beach adventures.

Included was this wet suit and a surf board.

***************************************

Me: Wow! Lookin' cool Sindy!

Sindy: I am cool.

Me: I didn't know you were a surfer.

Sindy: Oh I can surf alright! I'm a tough, independent woman.

Me: Fantastic! Then you wouldn't be interested in Paul over there. He's a life guard and.. hey! Where are you going?

Sindy: I just remembered I can't swim and could use some help.

Me: What happened to the independent woman?

Sindy: She can't hear you... Paul! Hello!

Me: Tsk, tsk..

'Walk in the Park' 1986 Sindy Scenesetter

This pram with baby and Red Setter dog, was originally deep blue when first sold in 1982. This years baby blue and mauve variant also sported a new Sindy design on the side.

The baby was still the same as previous years with dark hair and a white little dress. So was the mattress, blanket and pillow, however the vinyl cover was completely taken out of the equation!

The Red Setter with lead was exactly the same, but I lost the "handle" somewhere along the line and made a new one from grey fabric, though it ought to be brown.
