A stunning architectural structure stands on the edge of a calm lake, reflecting perfectly in the water. The sky is clear with a deep blue, complementing the vibrant green landscape surrounding the building. This is the Kizhi Pogost, a unique monument of Christian architecture of the Russian North, where in the past the only available building material was timber and moreover churches had to be built without nails. The Kizhi Pogost is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
