Magnolia Warbler - A first 904_4445.jpg

Often forages low in the understory, picking insects from the undersides of leaves. During migration also forages higher in the canopy with other warblers. Sometimes flashes its tail, exposing white spots, similar to the behavior of an American Redstart.

Tufted Titmouse on a Branch

A Tufted Titmouse perches with alert eyes and its signature crest raised, facing the camera with a look of quiet curiosity.

I took this photo in my Arkansas yard, where these bold little birds often visit the feeders and low branches. They’re not shy and tend to pose nicely when they pause.

This species is known for its gray plumage, black forehead, and expressive crest. Their calls are clear and whistled, often heard before the bird is seen.
