The length is approx. 8.6 miles (13.8 km) out-and-back and is ideal for birding, fishing, mountain biking, walking, running, and road biking.

The trail offers lovely views of the Alouette River, surrounding mountains, and farmlands. It's a well-maintained gravel path with benches and garbage cans along the way.

The trail is dog-friendly, but dogs must be on a leash. There are picnic tables at the starting point and a kayak launch.

The trail is a great spot for birdwatching, with opportunities to spot eagles and other wildlife.
