Daimler CCG6/Roe. Built 1964.. New to the South Shields Corporation, this bus was based at Chichester Depot where it spent all its 14 year working life. It was owned by Stagecoach South Shields after the takeover of South Shields Busways.
It worked double shifts, on normal town service during the day, and then through the night ferrying workers to and from the local shipyards.
It still has its original engine, gearbox, diff and prop shafts and was used by Tesco in one of their advertising campaigns.
