Karma will get you

Gridley Lake, Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area, Cass County, Illinois

Gridley Lake is located at the Jim Edgar Panther Creek State and Fish and Wildlife Area, 8 miles north of Ashland and 40 miles northwest of Springfield. In the early 1990s, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources purchased 15,575 acres of ground from Commonwealth Edison. Ten old farm ponds on the site were rehabilitated and restocked and three new larger lakes were constructed. Gridley Lake is 24.6 acres with a maximum depth of 42’.

Named for former two-term Illinois Governor Jim Edgar, Panther Creek is one of Illinois' largest public access areas. The 16,550 acre site is a mosaic of mature forest land, agricultural land, grassland and rare hill prairie that is home to a rich assortment of wildlife.
