Museum Cultivation

Fotografiska Museum is unique with a restaurant and this hydroponic (growing plants without soil). There are lettuces, cabbage and spices which will be served in the restaurant. The goal is to become self-sufficient in leafy greens.
The plants receive nutrients, moisture, light and heat plus the carbon dioxide that museum visitors exhale. 99% of the water is recycled. Since it is a controlled environment, pesticides don't need to be used. And there are no transport emissions because the restaurant is located in the same building.

She - A Cathedral 1966

Slideshow at Fotografiska Museum with slides taken by Hans Hammarskiöld in 1966. The sculpture was exhibited during the summer of 1966 at Moderna Museet in Stockholm and was destroyed when the exhibition was over. For this reason, documentation of the piece became especially important and Hammarskiöld was commissioned to capture the process and the exhibition. The images are part of the book that the museum published.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Hammarski%C3%B6ld
The sculpture was created as a collaboration between the artists Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean Tinguely, and P.O.Ultvedt, together with the museum's legendary director and curator Pontus Hultén.
The visitors enterd the sculpture through the pregnant woman's birth canal, to discover a bar, a small cinema that showed Greta Garbo movies, paintings, and a slide for children.
Pontus Hultén (1924-2006) is regarded as one of the most distinguished museum professionals of the twentieth century. In the 1970s he was invited to participate in the creation of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, where he was the first director of the Musée National d'Art Moderne in 1974-1981.

Toiletpaper III

With a shared passion for photography, absurdism, and creativity, artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari founded image-based TOILETPAPER Magazine in 2010 as a reaction to the conservative art world. Today, TOILETPAPER is known worldwide for its straightforward, colorful, and often provocative images, where a cheerful design inspired by advertising and commercialism meets dark satire and acidic social commentary.
From an exhibition at Fotografiska Stockholm, the largest European exhibition that the Italian studio TOILETPAPER has ever held.
