HOLD YOUR FIRE.
Alternative energy and hydroelectric power endured the longest after the Fall, still lighting lamps that burned for a time against the Dark, refrigerating food that no human would ever eat, even maintaining automatic transmissions over televisions, radios and computers for days, months and in very rare cases even years.
But the coal, oil, gas and atomic fired stations died almost immediately, starved of fuel or constant, carefully monitored control and maintainence.
It was hard but at least it was quick.
Powerhouses without power.
