On the heels of the Ninja Rice Burger truck, this guy showed up, and he had the right idea and the right stuff to sell. It was April, but it does get hot out in the sun in L.A. that time of year. This is the last of my Tax Day stills.

Think this truck will get anyone's attention? Maybe they need just a little more color and splash to do that. I don't know how many people took advantage of this food truck, as the crowd was breaking up and the street was being cleared for normal traffic again, all within the rules and regulations of the permit for this rally.
Anyway, it's funny that I never saw this truck over at Grand Park, next to the courthouse and the Hahn building.
It has been nearly two months since I have attended any anti-Trump rallies. The news of Trump's pardoning of Sheriff Arpaio and his callous, insensitive tweets over Hurricane Harvey has prompted me to post a few shot I didn't get around to post here on Flickr. I had been attending so many rallies that there was hardly time to prep them on Photoshop before attending the next one, or something else interesting was happening.
This is from the end of the Tax Day Rally. I am in front of City Hall. The women in the background were dancing, although I forget what the music was they were dancing to.
Birds of a Feather Commit Treason Together. #marchfortruth day is here. Thank you to everyone participating around the world today (I'm injured so I am watching via IG today). We must continue to remember that the Trump Administration is not normal. Note the quote about the truth is apparently not by George Orwell but instead by Selwyn Duke.

Impeachment is also a long, arduous process. Subpoenas have to be issued; prosecutors have to gather enough evidence and testimony, as they bear the burden of proof. And no one wants to mess this process up. The mid-term elections are about a year and a half away, really not that far off. Hopefully, marches and demonstrations like this one will continue to keep what is happening front and center.
Ted Lieu is someone to keep an eye on. A Congressman from the Torrance district, Lieu is also a strong opponent of Trump. He has gone on Bill Maher's show, he has been interviewed on the various local and cable news programs, and he would be among the leading Democratic figures heading up an investigative committee against Trump, his alleged Russian ties, and other alleged infractions against the Constitution Trump is accused of. Should the tables turn and the Democrats get a majority in the House and Senate again after the 2018 mid-terms, you can bet Lieu will be a much higher profile figure in Washington.
There will always be at least one person dressed as Uncle Sam at these things. Unfortunately, his brim was so wide that it threw his face into shadow where you can't see any details, other than the white beard and eyebrows. As the sign shows, there were a number of grievances aimed at Trump, not just the tax issue.
That favorite phrase from Robert Blake seems to work here. Certainly the acoustics under Upper Grand made the trumpet sound better. This clip will eventually turn up in a longer video.
This video was shot with my Canon PowerShot A1100 IS Digital Camera. I did not change the setting from daylight, which is why everything looks a little yellowish under the lighting here.
Congressman Ted Lieu is someone to keep an eye on. He is a smart, well-informed, no-nonsense congressman who wants to see this mess of an administration investigated. He was being realistic about how long things would take and that any impeachment proceedings cannot simply happen at the flick of a switch. I'm sure that if the mid-terms go in favor of the Democrats committees will be formed to fully investigate this mess. But it begins now, with everyone slowly working their way up and out to handle this properly, and not letting those who wish to continue to hide the truth take further advantage of the situation.
Just as I was on my way down the steps to head towards City Hall, I saw this guy. The bearded guy with the bongos seemed to be everywhere. Now he was providing dance music for the guy in the orange jumpsuit. His choice of expression for the mask was perfect, especially in light of what he was doing for the cameras (mine and many others).

It is still uncertain if this accusation is true, but everyone wants to have a field day with it anyway. I am inclined to believe part of this: that there was interference by the Russians, but there has to be more evidence to substantiate this other point.
Still, it makes one wonder what Nixon would think of all this. Watergate was one thing, but Nixon built his career on baiting the Russians and anyone trying to undermine or overthrow the U.S. Nixon went to China to open doors and create new relations with that country and Mao. If one wants to say Nixon was re-elected because of China, it would be true in that sense. But this is something different entirely, and as a result it poses a much larger threat.
As I've said before, this was a well-mannered crowd. They were not about to do anything that would bring the police and County sheriff's deputies (all watching from a close distance) to intervene. Watching people fight and get dragged away to jail might make for better visuals, but it goes against the grain for people like those here in getting their message across. Hopefully, this type of activity will continue; taking action without the drama.
