The Mathias Hansen House (No. 6 Amagertorv) was built in 1616 for Mathias Hansen, from 1622 the Mayor of Copenhagen. Typically of the Dutch Renaissance style, the house is built in red bricks with sandstone decorations, has a Dutch gable and a copper roof. The copper drainpipes are decorated with dragon's heads. It is one of few buildings of its kind which survived the Copenhagen Fires of 1728 and 1795. The building is now home to a flagship store for the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory.

Winchester Square (formerly Winchester Yard) in Southwark, south London, was once the courtyard of the townhouse and surrounding park of the Bishops of Winchester. The townhouse, by the way, was a palace or, at the very least, an opulent residence.
In medieval times the Diocese of Winchester covered a huge area of southern England, stretching from Winchester itself right up to the River Thames in Southwark. The Bishop served as the King's Treasurer, the equivalent of the Chancellor of the Exchequer or Finance Minister today. He frequently attended the monarch and Parliament.
Today, the area is largely residential, and is very near Borough Market, London’s foodie paradise.
The approximately 2-acre (0.8 ha) park, located in the Gramercy Park Historic District, is private park; only people residing around the park who pay an annual fee have a key, and the public is not generally allowed in. Some of the original townhouses surrounding the park, these were built between 1844 and 1850
