Émergeant des collines des Pyrénées-Orientales, le Château de Castelnou se dresse fièrement, gardien médiéval du village blotti à ses pieds. Construit au Xe siècle, il fut le siège des puissants vicomtes du Vallespir et joua un rôle clé dans la défense régionale pendant des siècles. Avec ses murs crénelés, ses tours imposantes et ses vues panoramiques sur les Aspres, il reste l’un des châteaux les mieux conservés de la région — et sans doute l’un des plus cinégéniques.

This fortified gateway once marked the transition from the outside world into the stronghold of the Viscounts of Vallespir. With its stone arch and iron portcullis still intact, the entrance to Castelnou Castle is a striking reminder of medieval defensive design. Cette porte fortifiée marquait autrefois le passage du monde extérieur vers la citadelle des vicomtes de Vallespir. Avec son arche en pierre et sa herse en fer toujours en place, l’entrée du Château de Castelnou reste un exemple frappant d’architecture défensive médiévale. Au-dessus de l’arche, un blason sculpté évoque des lignées nobles depuis longtemps disparues. Franchir ce seuil, c’est entrer dans des siècles d’histoire catalane, d’intrigues et de résistance.

Der Leuchtturm von Gatteville (frz. Phare de Gatteville) liegt an der nordöstlichen Spitze der Halbinsel Cotentin in der Normandie, nahe Barfleur. Mit einer Höhe von 75 Metern ist er einer der höchsten Leuchttürme Europas und zählt zu den imposantesten seiner Art. Er wurde zwischen 1829 und 1835 erbaut und ersetzte einen älteren, kleineren Turm. Über 365 Stufen führen zur Spitze, von der aus sich ein spektakulärer Blick über den Ärmelkanal bietet. Der Turm ist nicht nur ein bedeutendes Seezeichen, sondern auch ein beliebtes Fotomotiv und ein faszinierendes Reiseziel für Besucher der Region.

Built in 1880 by architect Louis Hourlier and inaugurated by Mayor Emile Gazagnaire, the Cannes bandstand still holds court beneath the Mediterranean sky. Once a hub of civic music and public gathering, it now stands as a wrought-iron echo of Belle Époque elegance — flanked by fountains, palms, and pastel façades, just steps from the bustle of Marché Forville.
