During my March 2023 trip to New York City, my goal was to capture a blue hour skyline shot of Manhattan with the Brooklyn Bridge. I originally planned a wider panorama, including Jane’s Carousel, but the area was under construction with scaffolding, tarps, and machinery. To avoid distractions, I adjusted my composition and switched from my Irix 15mm to the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8, framing the scene at 45mm.
I shot a 30-second long exposure at f/11, ISO 100. The smooth water and streaks of boat lights under the bridge enhanced the atmosphere. The illuminated One World Trade Center stands out against the deep blue sky.
