L'OCCHIO DI SHIVA, conosciuto in tutto il mondo con svariati nomi, è considerato un ottimo portafortuna. In Italia è detto OCCHIO DI SANTA LUCIA.
L'Occhio di Shiva è il frutto del “lavoro” di una specie marina chiamata Astraea Rugosa. Il mollusco secerne una sostanza che gli permette di costruire la sua casa, la conchiglia, e l'Occhio di Shiva, ovvero “la porta d'ingresso” della sua conchiglia. Viene considerato la rappresentazione del “terzo occhio” della dea Shiva al quale negli anni è stata attribuita una capacità benefica sui flussi energetici che attraversano tutto il nostro corpo. Simbolo di saggezza e conoscenza è l'emblema del movimento e dello sviluppo unitamente alla capacità di proteggerci dalle forze maligne accrescendo le energie positive.
