If you're visiting Vilnius, a hot air balloon ride is a must-try, with most flights taking off from Amphitheater Park in the late afternoon or early evening. Before our flight, I took some monochrome shots. The lively park provided great opportunities for unique compositions, with the interplay of light and shadow creating interesting contrasts just before we floated above the city – Vilnius, Lithuania.

This is a picture of Vilnius Cathedral, right in the middle of Cathedral Square, in the heart of the Old Town. Our guide, Thomas, told us it’s the most important Catholic church in Lithuania, with roots going all the way back to the 13th century. The cathedral has been rebuilt many times over the years, showing off different styles like Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque, before finally taking on its current neoclassical look in the late 1700s. – Vilnius, Lithuania
The statue behind the four Asian women is of Grand Duke Gediminas, the founder of Vilnius. We learned from our guide, Thomas, that Vilnius is becoming more popular with tourists, though it’s still not as crowded as other European capitals. The city’s history, Old Town (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and landmarks like Vilnius Cathedral and Gediminas Tower draw visitors year-round. Thomas also told us that winter is becoming a favorite time to visit, especially with the festive Christmas markets – Vilnius, Lithuania
