The Most Delicious Eyeglasses

“I can’t think without my glasses” – Vivienne Westwood (British fashion designer).

The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 22nd of February is "expose the E" where in order to meet the requirements of the theme, the photograph has to be of an object, plant, animal or person (something tangible) that begins with the letter E. In this case, I have opted for a pair of Edwardian “eyeglasses” from the early 1900s. I originally just had the eyeglasses on their own in the photo, but I felt it looked a little bland, so I decided to add two delicious macarons for a splash of colour. To begin with, I stood the macarons up on their ends, but they didn't look as good as they did lying down, so this ended up being my finished photograph. I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!

Rocking the Vintage!

I recently got a vintage group of old glasses that have fabulous designs on them, and then, there was this little hen! She seemed to fit right in with the color scheme, so here she is! :)

Vintage letter scale and ink pot.
The love letters I bought online and I wish I could return them to the family of Ben who wrote them, he was very much in love with Mary Elizabeth.
The letters come from the U.S. so how they ended up in the Netherlands is a mystery to me.
The woman in the photo is my paternal grandmother Lilli.
The cell phone is how we communicate mostly today, not very romantic :)
