I've added a couple of Flickr notes to provide more details.

It was a gray, wintery day after Christmas and I was totally bored. Couldn't drive yet, so took the Connecticut Company bus shoreline route from Milford to New Haven. I spent the day walking around the city and shot 12 of a 24 frame cartridge of 110 Kodacolor film, which was one of my Xmas presents.

It was a gray day and I decided to take the bus from Milford to New Haven. Walking around downtown always made for some interesting photos. None of this exists anymore since this area has become "Medical Row" with one large building after another along Route 34. (old timers still remember it as the "Oak Street Connector").

That old 19th century brick building on the right was a vestige of New Haven from before the massive 1950s urban renewal which transformed a majority of downtown.

After a day of shopping at Macy's and Malley's department stores, I snapped this photo of my Dad, my Aunt from Los Angeles and her son during their stay with us. This image was taken from the Temple Street garage. New Haven Connecticut. July 1972 by WAVZ 13

I find it both sad and ironic that all three people captured in this moment are no longer with us. The three have passed away at different times for completely unrelated reasons.

A technical note: this is a crop of a square-format Kodak 126 Verichrome Pan film image taken with a Kodak Instamatic 104 camera.

Part of the Rutgers University experience. Sometimes you had to wait for a LONG time to get a spot in the campus parking garage. The most dreaded words were "Sorry Garage Full". The student in this view had been extraordinarily patient! March 1977 by WAVZ 13

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, vast swaths of New Haven, Connecticut were demolished and replaced with sterile Brutalism architecture. The 1st National Bank, Temple Street Garage, Edward Malley's department store and Knights of Columbus HQ. July 1974 by WAVZ 13

A couple of 1970s cars drive along Route 34 (The Oak Street Connector). At the time, the highway was only about 10 years old. The lack of cars is amazing by today's bumper-to-bumper standards.

Neither Macy's or Malley's department stores exist anymore, although the iconic 1960s urban renewal "brutalist" architecture of the Temple Street Garage still stands. Today, Yale-New Haven Hospital is a massive, sprawling medical complex vastly larger than the one in this view from 1972.
