Although I appreciate that these 1974 photos on 110 film were included, some attribution would have been nice. What do you think?

Almost 50 years ago, this was the candy counter at the Baybrook Pharmacy. Between the rolls of Clorets, boxes of Vicks cough drops, packs of Certs, what other forgotten & lost products here bring back memories for you? West Haven Connecticut. April 1973 by WAVZ 13

This photo is like a "Where's Waldo" showing lots of products and packaging displays we once took for granted, but are now mostly gone and forgotten. Probably my fave is the package of Vick's nasal decongestion sticks which people used to sniff and received a strong whiff of camphor.

One of the few movies filmed on location in my hometown of Milford, CT. It's quite a thriller and features some well known actors of the time. Here, the victim's friend enters the CT Post Center from the Boston Post Road. July 1973 by WAVZ 13

Everybody used to just call it "The Post". As in "I'm going to the Post... do you need anything?".

It's been five decades, so I'm curious if anybody remembers the movie, the plot and the actors. Within several minutes of this scene, she (the driver) discovers the dead body of her friend parked in a VW. It gets REALLY fascinating from there...

Today it's just another bland modern megamall, but the original version was built in 1963 and had an open-air design which I always found to be a pleasant environment, especially on summer days.

How many stores do YOU remember?
This is just north of the Wilbur Cross Parkway. (also known as the Merritt Parkway). The shopping center still exists, but doesn't look anything like this mid century view of America's early shopping plazas.

After decades of trial and error, I finally figured out how to bring my digital camera with me into the past. A shot of the Connecticut Post Mall parking lot. It's blurry, but this is version 1 of the technology. Milford Connecticut. July 1973 by WAVZ 13

I thought this beater Ford Mustang parked in front of the Stop & Shop might be an interesting subject. In 1973, the car was only a few years old, but what a mess! Note the old dark blue plates with thick white letters.

Yours truly in the checkered shirt trying to figure something out. It's totally lost to time. Butane cigarette lighters for 79 cents and hot turkey sandwiches for $1.25 at Rexall Ligget Drugs at the open-air Post Mall. Milford Connecticut. July 1973 by WAVZ 13

I genuinely wish I could recall what I was doing when this 1/30th of a second in time was captured and saved by a friend and his 126 film camera, but after all these decades, I'm totally drawing a blank. At least one thing that hasn't changed over time is the design of shopping carts.

To be utterly accurate, at the time it was still called "The Connecticut Post Shopping Center". The "Mall" name came later.
