Always enjoy shooting umbrellas from above and trying to include some form of geometry into the equation- if possible. Curvature seemed apt for this one, shot at the west exit of Liverpool Street station

Having fun with the flash which for me is the gonzo of street, where with a healthy dose of flash you end up injecting yourself into the narrative . I love Ralph Steadman www.instagram.com/steadmanart/ and his illustrations of the the great man’s books, and so along with Bacon, I take inspiration for these more hallucinatory shots. I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive... (an appropriate exert from the opening line of one of the greatest novels written)

Always enjoy trying to shake things up think a little bit more about a shot and work an outcome that is just a little bit different. The song by the Pixies Where is my mind, had popped up on my shuffle whilst shooting and it sort of felt apt for this complex graphic!

Having fun in Mass Transit, exposing for the highlights as the mass of commuters and travellers passed across a cross hatch of lights and shadows. I enjoyed how it picked out bits and pieces across the frame and the distribution of the highlights.

A little Cordoban Complexity from the back streets of Córdoba and the old town, it looked as if the lads were taking on removal duties. Enjoyed the layers and complexity with the variety of expressions and actions across the uncropped frame.

Pushing the drag on this one, to 1.5 seconds, which is a little on the extreme side, but the subject mostly holds together with the surroundings disintegrating nicely. She had a real Cleopatra look that I only noticed retrospectively!

Further up close and personal flash fun, in and around the streets of London, the thick glass of the glasses drew me in, for Conscious Stream.
Using a loaner M10 as the Reporter is still back in Germany being fixed!

A little more of a considered shot with Cross Connection, a talker, a listener, shapes, colours and contrast.

Further rumination on Burri in Flight to the Sun, with his 1960 São Paulo shot with his 180mm of the roof top and street way below being such a benchmark and inspiration for me. The low light and constant stream of people entering Liverpool Street from its north entrance gave me an opportunity for a little homage☺️🙏

loved the angular shapes and the deep cobalt colours in Cobalt Couple, with the silhouettes giving the scale and human element

Spent the moments 20 years on from when the planes struck the towers at colourscape, a beautiful peaceful visual and musical meditation space and made it home for the reading of the names. What struck me most was the dignity of the victims relatives, the complete absence of hatred and the strong unwavering belief that they would meet there loved ones again 💙

Armada, so this chap was adjusting this aquatic sculpture, being directed by what I believe was the artist, not as easy as it seems!

This kid was On the Run with his ball mid market, I was pleasantly surprised with the results of this snap shot, particularly the ball frozen in time and the expression of focus and concentration.

An exercise in observation really, the dog was not as cute as he looks and was barking and straining at the leash, but I just kept on walking up on it, couldn't miss out on Doggo Double.
He did calm down eventually and we parted friends :)

Must be going through a stripy phase 😅 with Dark Matter. Loved the diagonal light which harked back to one of my masters, Rene Burri and his shot at the health ministry in Rio. I also enjoyed the shadow cast by the passing subject which completed the symmetry. Hopefully we get a few more clear days with this beautiful autumn light🙏

Early morning above the basketball court in the Barbican. I like the sense of, what next with this shot, it seemed to say Your move :)

A fun little colour graphic shot from Funchal late last year that I am posting as I wait for summer to reboot in London. I do miss the strong clean light, I just hope at some point this year I can travel again safely
