Planckendael is a zoo, located on the grounds of Planckendael castle in the village district of Muizen, in Mechelen, Belgium. In 1956 the Royal Zoological Society of Antwerp (KMDA) bought the Planckendael estate in order to acquire a larger space for animals than what they owned: the city zoo in Antwerp.

It is a vast animal park that is divided into five continents : Asia, Africa, Oceania, America and Europe.
Unlike the historic Antwerp City Zoo, Planckendael offers a vast, natural environment of 42 hectares where animals live in spacious enclosures.
There is a central loop route of approximately 3.5 km that leads past all continents.

Planckendael also has extensive leisure facilities: For children there is a large separate play area.

➵ Pital - Provincia de Alajuela - Costa Rica

The only endemic to the small island of Barbuda, off the larger neighbouring island Antigua. A brightly coloured inhabitant of thickets and scrub near water. The combination of blue-grey upperparts, extensively yellow underparts, white wingbars, and distinctive facial pattern are unique within its range. The song is variable, but most often is a burbling series of sweet notes given in three parts, with the middle part higher pitched. The call is a single loud sweet chip.
