To solve this problem I made some modifications to the design! I made the periods larger and reversed the date out of a bar with rounded corners.
When Candy started and printing and cutting out the logos we ran into a slight problem. Unfortunately the date and especially the periods were just to small to remove and adhere!
This solution made it possible for Candy to print and adhere the design successfully to the fifty masks! Way to go Candy!
For this first version I didn't realize that Julia was keeping her last name! Whoops! I adjusted the letterforms of the J & K to perfectly compliment the large "Big Caslon Medium" S. The date type is Alegreya Sans SC.
Next I tried several iterations that kept the J&K in Tangier Medium but used an Ampersand instead of an S. This proved to be way more challenging because of the greater width of the &.

I am so happy to have been able to design this logo lockup for my dear friend's Julia & Kevin's wedding! (Haha, yes they're getting married during The Rona!)
The initial designs were created to fill up a good third of the mask. It wasn't until after the second iteration that I got to see the masks that we would be printing on. After seeing that the masks were pleated I re-designed the logo with that in mind.
The date font is Alegreya Sans SC - Light in all versions of the logo. I wanted something clean and simple, yet not boring to contrast with the more decorative J+K fonts. The final version of the logo uses Georgia for the J+K while earlier versions of the logo use a combination of Tangier Medium, Symbol and Big Caslon Medium.
