Hospi the Lion, he is the mascot of the Wellington Hospitals Trust. Taken while I was sitting in the waiting room of the Emergency Department at Wellington Hospital.
I'm ill again. The symptoms have been a little different this time, grumbling for days. I was at work today but getting worse. I rang the surgery to see if there was an appointment this evening. The nurse told me I should go to the emergency department. I was given Tramadol which did nothing, then Buscopan which just took the edge off. Three hours later, when the doctor was ready to see me, they had to wheel me to him in a wheelchair.

With Rik, who is a great support. Taken in the corridor in the gastro department of Wellington Hospital after another procedure performed by Dr Cameron today.
This time I stuck to the 'nil by mouth 2 - 4 hours before' (I opted for 2 hours) rather than the 'from midnight' that I had been told on the phone last time. I hoped it would make it easier for them to get a line in. It still took two goes, on in each arm. The first arm is badly bruised. The lovely nurse who got it in the second time waited till I was laying down on the trolley, put a numbing patch on my arm first, then a hot flannel, then got it in with no trouble. I shall ask for that the next time (in five weeks time). I took a photo of the bruise and I will keep it on my phone so I can show it if they say I don't need all that fuss.

Another hospital appointment. This one was for 4.30pm for a CT scan of my chest. Because of the timing I didn't get to go home for a nap after work. I got out of the hospital at 5.45 and then went to the pub quiz with Rik, Dave, Lucy, Forrest and Jae.

This is my third leap year of 366.
In 2008 I took a shot just as I was going to bed.
In 2012 I was sitting in the shadows, behind the solar lights.
Yet another hospital appointment. I don't know why O look so awful. Maybe it was because I couldn't see the image on the camera and was concerned to get the sign in.

This is my third leap year of 366.
In 2008 I was enjoying Valencia.
In 2012 I went to Rocktober.
My first day back at work after being ill for a couple of weeks. Eleven days after I came out of Wellington hospital I am back, as an outpatient, for a different reason. I had some lasering done to my eyes a few months ago to prevent glaucoma. Today have to go for a scan to make sure it worked properly.
On my way through the hospital to the correct department I spotted this. The steps and entrance arch of the original Wellington Hospital.

This used to be the front door of the hospital at the time that it was built. Now they have a fancy new hospital complex, the front door has become a sculpture within the hospital which provides an area where people can have coffee and possibly poison themselves with cigarettes.
Which was a great idea by whoever thought to have saved it.
The lights at Wishbone were weird and wonderful. Couldn't help but observe them during lunch time.
This was taken on a Sony Cybershot.
