In the fall of 2024, the sky delighted me with a majestic comet with a luxurious tail, the likes of which I had never seen before. The comet was already dubbed the comet of the century and I had previously published a photo with this guest of our sky.
And just a couple of months later, in January 2025, a new bright guest quickly burst into our sky. It did not have such a chic tail. And it was not an easy target for observers from Siberia. In the sky over Siberia, the bright guest appeared only for a few days and exclusively at dawn and sunset, when its brightness was hidden by the sun's rays.
Nevertheless, a small group of desperate enthusiasts managed to see and even photograph the comet over Siberia, for 4 days.
Besides the photo with the comet, there was also other "catch": landscapes, photos of the Moon and some planets after sunset.

Осенью 2024 небо порадовало величественной кометой с роскошным хвостом, равным которому я ранее никогда не видел. Комету уже окрестили кометой века и ранее я публиковал фото с этой гостьей нашего неба.
И всего через пару месяцев в январе 2025 на наш небосвод стремительно ворвалась новая яркая гостья. Она не обладала столь шикарным хвостом. И не была лёгкой целью для наблюдателей из Сибири. В небе над Сибирью яркая гостья появилась лишь несколько дней и исключительно на рассвете и закате, когда её яркость скрывали солнечные лучи.
Тем не менее, небольшой группе отчаянных энтузиастов удалось увидеть и даже сфотать комету над Сибирью, портатив на это 4 дня.
Кроме фото с кометой была и иная "добыча": пейзажи, фото Луны и некоторых планет после заката.

One of the most striking events of the outgoing year was the meeting with a comet, which has already been dubbed the comet of the century.
Of course, I couldn't miss the opportunity and took part in a photo hunt for a rare guest from the moment when it became possible to see the comet in my region (in mid-October) until the beginning of December, when it became visible only through a telescope, rapidly moving away.
The comet did not seem to me the brightest of those I had seen before, but it certainly had the most luxurious tail. And a double one (you can see in this photo that in addition to the main luxurious tail, the comet also has a "pigtail" falling out in the opposite direction from the nucleus).

Одно из ярчайших событий уходящего года – встреча с кометой, которую уже окрестили кометой века.
Конечно, я не мог упустить случая и принял участие в фото охоте на редкую гостью с момента, когда её стало возможно увидеть в моём регионе (в середине октября) и до начала декабря, когда она стала видна лишь в телескоп, стремительно удаляясь.
Комета мне не показалась самой яркой из виденных мной ранее, но, безусловно, она обладала самым роскошным хвостом. Причём двойным (видно и на этом фото, что у кометы кроме основного роскошного хвоста есть ещё выпадающая "косичка" в противоположном направлении от ядра).

An unusual astro-landscape for residents of mid-latitudes - the Milky Way and the Northern Lights
At the end of the past year, many residents of even mid-latitudes witnessed the Northern Lights. I saw this in my region of Western Siberia (55 degrees north latitude) for the first time in my life. The sky was lit up with a glow with a pronounced color gradient from green to red. And it swayed like a banner in the wind. And from time to time, against the background of this glow, pillars of light appeared, moved and disappeared. The brightest peak of the aurora lasted 30 minutes, during which time I filmed continuously from a tripod with shutter speeds of 20 seconds. I want to share here the most striking shot. Of course, for polar latitudes this is a very modest picture. But in Western Siberia I saw such a sky for the first time. Let this be a good sign for the New Year! May the sky above us continue to give us light and beauty. And most importantly, peace.

There is also a video version of this shooting, but it reflects the flashes of light pillars very controversially, because in the timelapse, the exposure times of the frames are the same and the light pillars look static and drawn out.

Необычный астропейзаж для жителей средних широт - Млечный Путь и Северное сияние
В конце уходящего года многие житиели даже средних широт стали свидетелями Северного сияния. Я такое увидел в своём районе Западной Сибири (55 градусов северной широты) впервые в жизни. Небо озарило свечение с выраженным градиентом цвета от зелёного к красному. И оно колыхалось словно знамя на ветру. А временами на фоне этого зарева возникали, передвигались и исчезали световые столбы. Самый яркий разгар сияния продолжался 30 минут, в это время я вёл непрерывную съёмку со штатива с выдержками по 20 секунд. Хочу поделиться здесь самым ярким кадром. Конечно, для полярных широт это очень скромная картинка. Но в Западной Сибири я видел такое небо впервые. Пусть этот будет добрым знаком в Новый год! Пусть небо над нами продолжит дарить нам свет и красоту. А самое главное, - мир.
P.S.
Есть и видеоверсия этой съёмки, но она весьма спорно отражает вспышки световых столбов, т.к. в таймлапсе время экспонирования кадров одинаковое и световые столбы выглядят статично и затянуто.

Engl.: The autumn wood in the landscape is illuminated by the Moon. On the night of October 6, the Moon was in the constellation Gemini, exactly opposite the constellation Cygnus. At the same time, the Moon was not too bright (48% of the disk was illuminated). Such conditions are almost ideal for a landscape with a simultaneous view of the Milky Way and an autumn forest. Unfortunately, powerful light from the large industrial center - the million-plus city of Omsk - interfered from the North-West (we managed to leave about 20 km from it - not enough). But I really wanted to get an autumn landscape with a view of the Milky Way. On Earth, as an element of the composition, I decided to create a “river of fire” by running with a flashlight to a birch grove... the run had to be repeated several times. And this frame is, perhaps, the best result by the photographer who did a lot of running ;-)

Rus.: Осенний лес в пейзаже подсвечен Луной. В ночь на 6 октября Луна была в созвездии Близнецов, точно напротив созвездия Лебедь. При этом Луна была не чересчур яркой (было освещено 48% диска). Такие условия почти идеальны для пейзажа с одновременным видом на Млечный Путь и осенний лес. К сожалению, с Северо-Запада мешала мощная засветка от крупного промышленного центра - города-миллионника Омска (выехать удалось примерно за 20км от него - мало). Но заполучить осенний пейзаж с видом на Млечный Путь очень хотелось. На Земле в качестве элемента композиции решил создать "огненную реку", пробежав с фонариком до берёзовой рощи... пробежку пришлось повторить несколько раз и вот, пожалуй, лучший результат набегавшегося фотографа ;-)

For the projection, a real photo of the great nebula of Orion was used (www.flickr.com/photos/bogky/52613759755/in/dateposted-pub...).

The multiple exposure (60sec. for the nebula and 30sec.*16lights for the stars), in my opinion, made it possible to better bring out the color in the shadows and highlights. And catch up with the Running Man (NGC 1977) over the Orion Nebula ;-)
