The jukebox on display was produced in the late 1930s and plays 78 rpm records. After the typical wooden design of the 1930s, Wurlitzer employed a gifted designer named Paul Fuller. Fuller introduced colored plastics and glass, rotating cylinders and bubble tubes making the jukeboxes more ornate. In 1947, Wurlitzer released perhaps the most iconic jukebox of all time – the 1015 model. It had tubes of flowing bubbles that moved along the machine’s arched top. The design of that Wurlitzer has been an inspiration in design for jukeboxes ever since.
By the 1950s, teens were buying rock ‘n’ roll records at an alarming rate, the 78rpm record had been replaced by the smaller, more cost-effective 45rpm record, and new innovations in jukebox technology made the machines more accessible and fun for customers. Rock ‘n’ roll elevated the jukebox’s status in society, and in return, the jukebox supported the teenagers’ hunger for more rock ‘n’ roll. It is no wonder that business boomed for the jukebox industry at this time, and Wurlitzer’s name was practically synonymous with the jukebox during this Golden Age. They include "A White Sport Coat" by Marty Robbins, "The Wayward Wind" by Gogi Grant, "Yes Tonight, Josephine" by Johnnie Ray, "Rags to Riches" by Tony Bennett, "Island in the Sun" by Harry Belafonte, "Catch a Falling Star" by Perry Como, and "Walking My Baby Back Home" by Nat King Cole.]

A found Cabinet of wood with open and semi-closed doors to display some favourite objects d'art!. Someone put it into the basement of our building, I guess when they moved out. We liked it and I spent a bit of time cleaning it up with Lemon Oil and got any nicks and scratches out, so it looks like new again.
