Ein Bauwerke mit bewegter Geschichte, erbaut um 1752, 1888 als Kirche aufgegeben,1940 im Winterkrieg zerstört, im Jahr 1951 wiederaufgebaut. Straßen führen keine hin, nur ein langer beschwerlicher Fußmarsch.
A building with an eventful history, built around 1752, abandoned as a church in 1888, destroyed in the Winter War in 1940, rebuilt in 1951. There are no roads leading to it, just a long, arduous walk.

There are such varied designs of this practical theme to be seen here; almost makes you think that no two are alike.
However, this unique house really caught my eye, not least due its raised height.
A 'Queenslander house' is a style of Australian architecture characterized by timber construction, elevated on stumps, wide verandas, and corrugated steel roofing.
These homes were designed to address the practical needs of Queensland's sub-tropical climate, providing natural cooling & ventilation, and protecting it from flooding and termites.

The irrigation reels seem to be in good order, so I guess they are still suitable for use in dry spells on the sugar cane fields, which can be seen in the background.
