For May-June 2022, I did a two-week road trip, and my first stop was Tucson, the second-largest city in Arizona and briefly my home during my poverty/recluse era of 2000-2001.
Paying a visit to one of the most outstanding aerospace museums anywhere - Pima Air and Space Museum.
The museum is the retirement home for this historic aircraft: the very first Boeing 777, my favorite airliner type. Originally built as the prototype and equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines, it first flew in 1994 and remained with Boeing as a demonstrator until 2000. At that time, it was reconfigured for Cathay Pacific, including re-engining to Rolls Royce Trent engines, and remained in revenue service until 2018, when it was retired and sent to Pima Air and Space Museum to be preserved.
So good to see my favorite airliner up close and personal. Some of my dearest travel memories include other early-model 777s, including the third one (N7773 and later N771UA) which would get me out of an Amsterdam nightmare in 1999.

Planespotting at Los Angeles International Airport - something I used to do very often several years ago, but rarely do now.
