In 2014, immediately after a grand jury did not indict Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown. Unrest occurred in the St. Louis area. This photo was taken on South Grand Blvd near Tower Grove Park. Here occurred one of the biggest gathering, if not the biggest. This gathering was totally peaceful. This area wasn't shown on the national news. However it was on the local news. Merchants boarded up their stores before the protests, with an anticipation of looters. Afterwards, local residents organized to not allow the "ugliness" of boarded up stores prevail in their neighborhood. They painted. This was a chance for expression.
