WHITE-CHINNED THISTLETAIL Asthenes fuliginosa. This White-chinned Thistletail is looking back after having captured a caterpillar with lichen camouflage in some bushes in the paramo at an elevation of about 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) at the Papallacta Pass to the east of Quito in northern Ecuador at 8:39 AM on the cloudy morning of November 4, 2018.

The White-chinned Thistletail belongs to the avian family Furnariidae (Ovenbirds) and is found in the Andes of western Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Perú. Formerly, this species bore the scientific name Schizoeaca fuliginosa.

Un Colicardo Barbiblanco Asthenes fuliginosa tiene en su pico una oruga con camuflaje de liquen a una altura de 4,000 metros por el Paso de Papallacta al este de Quito en el norte de Ecuador a las 8 y 39 de la mañana nublada del 4 de noviembre de 2018.

WHITE-CHINNED THISTLETAIL Asthenes fuliginosa. WHITE-CHINNED THISTLETAIL Asthenes fuliginosa. A White-chinned Thistletail was found in the paramo at an elevation of about 4,150 meters (13,615 feet) above the Papallacta Pass to the east of Quito in northern Ecuador on October 26, 2016 at 4:06 PM on a beautiful sunny day.

The White-chinned Thistletail is a member of the avian family Furnariidae (Ovenbirds) and is found in the Andes of western Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Perú. Formerly, this species bore the scientific name Schizoeaca fuliginosa.

Un Colicardo Barbiblanco Asthenes fuliginosa se halla a una altura de 4,150 metros por encima del Paso de Papallacta al este de Quito en el norte de Ecuador a las 4 y 6 de una bella tarde asoleada el 26 de octubre de 2016.
