Bronica lens test with Barn & Purple field

65mm Bronica PS medium format lens on the Pentax K1mk2 using the Fotodiox adapter.

Time of day was 4:17 pm [late afternoon - the sun sets at 7:21 pm today]

No editing was done [hence the car on the right...]

This was shot through the open car window. (yes, I am that lazy, but it does make this series of barn shots consistent)

Just outside of Kaskaskia IL State wildlife refuge

Bronica on Pentax K1mk2 Lens test

Fotodiox SQ -> K mount adapter tests continue.

I like the green color saturation here using the Bronica PS 65 lens.

F stop is 4 [wide open]

The two white tree trunks are sycamore, most everything else is oak.

OK - not much flare in this case.

For those of you following along at home:

This is a Bronica SQAI 150mm lens on a Fotodiox SQ to K adapter [and then a K to Z adapter]

Nikon Z9 / f4 / iso 140 / shutter 1:160 / 0 ev

Bronica 35 MF SQ lens to Nikon Z

This 35mm loves to flare...
Used the FOTODIOX PRO SQ to PK, then a PK to Z. [yes, I was stacking adapters...

I am VERY PLEASED with the adapters.

F stop 22 / shutter 1/40s / ISO 72

Paw held [that's hands to those of you who lack paws]

I intenionally let the lamp shine on the lens since that is what I was testing for.

Let me know if you want a fully zoomed in pic [I use apple's photos app], so however far that squints.

Nothing other than cropping has been done to this RAW file [which I am sure 'photos' dumps to jpg when loading into flickr...

Z9 firmware is 5.0

Bronica SQ lens mated to Pentax K3 mk3 Monochrome using Fotodiox

Because I know people at work are going to ask what this looked like....

If this is your first visit - Fotodiox [they are near Chicago[ has made some adapters for Bronica SQ lenses.

I bought a Pentax K mount & a Nikon F mount [they don't have a Z for the SQ, only the Ertsi]

Since they arrived this PM, I have spammed a few pics in my photo stream.

Thoughts ?

1st shot - Bronica SQ 35mm lens using Fotodiox adapter on a Pentax K3mk3 Monochrome

OK - 1st, ignore the handheld manual focus. [the focus looks a little soft, but I might have been standing to close, and I was in dim light [movement]

I will need some practice with this setup, but in a nutshell, the first thing [on the camera] is to 1) turn off AF, 2) tell the camera it is OK to shoot without the apt being in A position.

I haven't figured out if I need to tell it the F stop, it seems to get close.

I did tell it the focal length [35mm]

Testing this weekend will be on a tripod [and using more than an LED desklamp]

Realistic was a brand name of the USA company, Radio Shack.

These particular specimens are from the 1980's [tuner / amp / 8-track RECORDER & player.

Tuner is set for 93.1, which plays 1960-1980 rock music. I mostly hang with the 70's stuff.

Thoughts / Concerns with the adapters or lenses ?
