This narrow, cobbled street in Dent is actually called Main Street. The charming little village of Dent is the main settlement in Dentdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Until 1974, Dentdale was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The old post office, together with the adjoining shop, is now two cottages which are believed to date from the 1700s. They are Grade II-listed.
The beautiful little village of Dent is the main settlement in Dentdale, to which it gives its name. The white-painted building comprises two cottages and a cafe, with a barn on the right. They are Grade II-listed and believed to date from the late 1600s in the case of the cottage on the left, and early-mid 1700s for the cottage on the right.
