Community Radio broadcaster on air in Quelimane

Community radios are a major information source in Mozambique’s rural areas and reach approximately 2/3 of the population, However, due to poor journalistic skills and ethical standards, lack of financial sustainability, and low levels of direct community engagement, the potential for community radio to inform and empower Mozambican citizens has not been fully realized. The aim of CORAGEM is to Strengthen the capacity of community radios to respond to rural citizens’ information needs and demand for greater accountability.
