This is one of Elvis Presley's better and most entertaining films. However, it is a shame that its success ruined the promising film career of the King. The scenery and songs are good and it is a fairly decent script. Angela Lansbury appeared as Elvis's mother, and the film gave tourism to the Islands a big boost. 40 years on the film is still a treat to watch, but due to the film's popularity Elvis management told him this was the direction his film career should go. And that's such a shame, for Elvis fans and for film history.
