Devil's Backbone is a rock formation made of Tuscarora Sandstone. Tuscarora Sandstone runs for miles thru West Virginia into Tennessee and north into New York state. it was ancient compressional folding that formed the anticline. Settlers were so disturbed by the formation that they wondered if it was demonic in nature, hence the name they gave it It's located on route 39 just south of Huntersville. There's a little pull off next to the bridge where you can park. I took this shot from under the bridge.

Well, I'm back. After a devasting loss last weekend while out on a hike with Max. I was in an area called Seven Bridges and was looking to capture one of the seven. While getting into position, suddenly, my camera came loose from my monopod and went crashing down some rocks and into a flowing creek. Pushed by the current, I was finally able to retrieve it a few yards down, but by that time the damage was complete. The camera, lens, battery, and SD card...all completely dead. After a week, I was telling someone, I felt as though I had lost a limb.
Well, I've been very generously blessed with my newest tool, the Canon R7. I have made the move to mirrorless and I'm on a big learning curve to understand this baby. So this will be the intro as I took Max to Devil's Backbone open space in Northern Colorado.
