The team was the most successful in the school's history. The Rebel's overall record was 17 wins against only 2 losses. An overall team effort, rather than individual stars, was the major factor in the Rebel's success.

Prior to EMC’s acquisition of Document Sciences, J. Douglas Winter served as Chief Operating Officer of Document Sciences. Previously, Mr. Winter was a founder of Objectiva Software Solutions and served as CEO from 2001 until it was acquired by Document Sciences in 2004. Prior to founding Objectiva, he served as General Manager of ONEWORLD Software Solution's California client service centers, establishing their west coast operations and serving as part of their global executive committee. Mr. Winter also served in several management positions at QUALCOMM and as an instructor in the US Navy’s nuclear training program. Mr. Winter holds a MS in Engineering and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
