An intercity service with EP09-012 in charge is seen arriving at Gdansk.
The EP09 class offered an attempted leap forward in locomotive design in Poland however to proved most troublesome. It was designed as the answer to Poland's desire to operate long distance passenger trains as a great speed than 135kph. It achieved this but since its introduction in 1986 out has been beset with traction motor issues. As a consequence all 47 locomotives of the class have slightly different designs. They have all been transferred to Gdansk so that one area can get used to their operating issues as well.
I chose this photo of the locomotive as the station building and clock tower are well seen.
