Walking off the trail into the woods a lot of times was probably the best part of this hike in Scotland. The ground was nothing but a heavy, 6 inch thick carpet of moss. Everywhere you looked, there were natural pathways through the trees, leading your eye and imagination into the unknown Scottish mystics.

There's something magical about walking through the woods of Scotland. This was Eynort Forest in the Isle of Skye. The woods are along a mountain along a misty shore, so all the moisture creates vast amounts of moss covered forest floor.
