This was the worst part of the day at Blackpool - when I was doing my final round-up before going home and finding rare things like this that had sneaked in while I was elsewhere. Then I had to decide whether or not it was worth taking a slide of it, or if I should just try and forget I had seen it ! I took this one ....

Only seven DAF MB200s received a Plaxton Supreme VI body during its solitary year of production in 1982. This one had been new to Garrett's of Newton Abbot as VTT 14X, and had acquired the LAT 662 plate during its later ownership by Lattimore Coaches of Markyate, Herts. Border Travel at Galashiels bought it in 1991, but they sold out to Lowland in 1992, and it had its longest spell with one owner there, until departing for scrap in 2000.

Bedford VAS5 with Reeve-Burgess bodywork in Eyemouth Berwickshire on 20 August 1985. New to Scottish Omnibuses in 1981 as fleet number ZC10. One of five such buses built with secure rear compartments to transport medicines and other equipment around the Scottish Borders, assigned to routes C1-C4 based on the Borders General Hospital near Galashiels.

VTT14X was a DAF MB200DKTL / Plaxton Supreme VI C51F purchased new by Garrett of Newton Abbot in February 1981. It passed to Lattimore of Markyate in December 1988, then WHM of Hutton in June 1991. A year later it joined Shank's t/a Border Travel of Galashiels, and was up-seated to C57F. Lowland took over the business in April 1992 and re-registered the coach to FFS10X a couple of years later.

Lowland's 632 is seen a few months after the other pic, in Selkirk, having been repainted into the GRT-style livery. Presumably as it was an older coach, it wasn't deemed appropriate to put in coach livery, so it is in bus livery, but looks well enough in it.

An unusual vehicle acquired by Lowland from the Ian Glass business was this Plaxton Supreme VI bodied DAF MB200, which looks well in Lowland's coach livery in Peebles in 1996. I think I'm correct in saying it was previously registered LAT662, which was transferred onto a Scania/Paramount, and FFS10X from a former Border Courier put on this.
