Here is a Hooded Mountain Tanager with captured live prey. This tanager forages at all levels, but normally in subcanopy to canopy in tall vegetation, seeking berries, fruits, seeds, insects, and invertebrates.
The Hooded Mountain-tanager (Buthraupis montana) inhabits the humid Andean highlands above 2200 meters in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It's a big tanager at 23 centimeters in length.
