Amsterdam - A'dam Tower.
A'dam Lookout & Over The Edge.
"OverThe Edge" is Europe's highest swing, placed on the Lookout deck of Tower A'dam (85 m).
Amsterdam - IJdok (IJdock).
The sharp tower forms a nine-storey apartment with a total floor area of 'only' 330 square meters. The top room is 4 sqm in size.
IJdock valt vooral op door de scherpe hoeken, schuine lijnen en uitsneden. Behoud van zichtlijnen was het sleutelwoord. Behalve polderdesign is IJdock ook een bewust opgezocht irrationeel ontwerp. Met verwijzingen naar schepen, rotsen en scherpe hoeken zoals van historische Amsterdamse bouwkavels.
De zogenaamde "Keizersgrachtsnede" kruist het enige wooncomplex op het eiland, een ontwerp van Zeinstra van Gelderen architecten, overdwars op driekwart van het gebouw. Het dak duikt naar beneden en klimt dan weer steil omhoog. Daardoor blijft er een curieuze puntige en kleine toren als restruimte over. Dat vormt een koopappartement van negen etages hoog, met een totaal vloeroppervlak van ‘slechts’ 330 vierkante meter. De topkamer is 4 vierkante meter groot. Maar je woont dan wel in het gekste en scherpste torentje van Amsterdam met uitzicht op het IJ (villapalladio.nl).
