Moustache Brothers, Mandalay 2015 by flovision.net

From a performance of the 'Moustache Brothers', a group of comedians based in Mandalay known for mixing classical elements of puppets, music and slapstick comedy with sharp satirical critiques of the Burmese military regime. The brothers were sentenced to hard labour and imprisoned on several occasions by the military regimes at the time. Here - in 2015, a period of tentative experimentation with more democratisation and individual freedoms - the troupe were allowed to perform, but only for foreign tourists and from their home in Mandalay.
