Immediately behind 6M20 (which had been let out on the main line in front of the 7B12 service, pictured above) 59005 heads for Wootton Bassett with a motley collection of heavily graffitied hoppers seen at Lambridge road bridge, just outside Westbury.
The strong spring sunshine, green lush countryside and pleasant scenery is a real tonic after a long and miserable winter in the UK.

This one turned into a bit of a nail biter. Whilst booked to change crew and recess on the up relief in Westbury station, a delay of 50 minutes departing Whatley meant this could have taken the avoider and stuffed the change of getting this machine on the 6M20 to St. Pancras. Fortunately the booked route was taken despite the delay having grown to over an hour at this point. Use of 66587 on stone work is relatively unusual as its mainstay is intermodal work.
