In downtown Marquette, Michigan, on September 24th, 2024, was the former Marquette City Hall (built of locally quarried [i.e., Jacobsville] sandstone; converted to a privately-owned office building in the 1970s; 75000956 on the National Register of Historic Places) on the north side of West Washington Street, west of North 3rd Street.
Jacobsville Sandstone was formed between 1.09 billion and 972 million years ago, per Macrostrat.

Yea the Jacobsville Sandstone got laid down 1.09 billion to 972 million years ago (per Macrostrat), in the form of fluvial deposits that filled the huge basin that had earlier been created by the infamously dreadful Midcontinent Rift, during which North America unsuccessfully tried to split itself in two.
Ah but these 1880s Catholics on the Upper Peninsula weren't thinking about any of that. Their minds were on the tickets to paradise they hoped to be awarded upon their respective deaths!
