February 23, 2025, At El Ensueño, Quindío, Colombia.
A juvenile Yellow-headed Caracara (Milvago chimachima) is hanging out. There is an active nest on a neighboring property, and we frequently see the adults and juveniles at El Ensueño. This species inhabits lowlands and highlands, about 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level, from Costa Rica to northern Argentina and Uruguay.

It was very interesting to photograph a wild bird, free in nature, with a ring. I want to believe that this bird was rescued and returned to its natural habitat.Yellow-headed Caracara
