My friend asked me for a doll inspired by Monica Bellucci as a bride of Dracula in the 1992 movie Bram Stoker's Dracula. I didn't have a head sculpt that would work for her likeness, so this was a more of a generic concept. I resculpted Sura head to have an open mouth with vampire fangs and made her dark eyes the colour of dried blood *they appear black on camera for some reason). Her hard cap wig is wavy black mohair and ghostly torn gown is mulberry silk crêpe. I spend days tearing and distressing it.
*Commissioned artwork and not for sale.
Although she was inspired by Monica Bellucci's elegant seductress, posing her I felt a similar forceful clumsiness from her as Bella in Poor Things. This woman knows what she wants and unapologetically takes it. I tried to pose her in a way that was sensual, but the doll always ended up in a pose that was more uncanny, inhuman, and just odd. I think this is partially due to the loose torso strings that allow the owner to swap different chest plates (she comes with 3 bust sizes, but is here photographed with L bust). For this photoshoot, it was perfect.
The vampire's victim is a hybrid doll with Dollshe body and HuliDolls head.
