The Boeing Collection - a tribute to the Boeing 747 'Queen of the Skies'
From a collection of some 500 Boeing slides that I've had scanned from my archives. Hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age.
A shiny looking Philippine Airlines Boeing 747 taxiing for departure at London Gatwick on flight PR831 to Manila.
N741PR c/n 21832 Boeing 747-2F6B - delivered new to Philippine Airways in December 1979, the aircraft was only a few months old in this photo. It stayed with the airline, retaining the American registration until 1998, when it was returned to Boeing and converted to a freighter. Registered N534MC it flew with Atlas Air, and Polar Air Cargo until 2007 - with the aircraft ending up stored at Mojave as N761SA of Southern Air where it was broken up for parts.
Taken with a Soviet made Zenith EM camera and 300mm lens. Photo reloaded after a visit to the restoration bureau
