What a delight to have this stunning looking bird land in the top of the tree just to the left of me. A bird I had never seen before but I really hope I get to see again some time.
A Blackbird-sized bird. Golden Orioles are very secretive birds and keep to the high tree canopy. They can be heard, most often at dawn, making their distinctive fluting whistle. Flies like a Thrush – with a slight bounce. Golden Orioles are listed as a Schedule 1 species.
