More drifting icebergs, this time in the southern arm of Lago Argentino. These ice masses break off from the leading edge of the Perito Moreno glacier, with thunderous cracking sounds occurring just as the ice fractures. Tour boats need to maintain a safe distance from the glacier front, to avoid impacts from the large waves that are often generated as the masses of ice hit the lake.

Le glacier Perito Moreno, est un glacier d'Argentine situé dans le parc national Los Glaciares de la province de Santa Cruz, Il est situé à 78 kilomètres d'El Calafate, en Patagonie argentine. Son front glaciaire de 5 000 mètres de longueur et de 60 mètres de hauteur s'étend dans le lac Argentino.
Avec une surface de 250 km2 et une longueur de 30 kilomètres, il fait partie des 48 glaciers alimentés par le champ de glace Sud de Patagonie, dans la cordillère des Andes, lLe glacier Perito Moreno est l'un des trois seuls glaciers de Patagonie qui n'est pas en recul. Le front du glacier fait approximativement 5 000 mètres de longueur, sa hauteur est de 170 mètres dont 74 mètres sont émergés, le reste se trouvant sous les eaux du lac Argentino. Il avance d'environ deux mètres par jour (700 mètres par an). À certains endroits son épaisseur atteint 700 mètres.
The Perito Moreno Glacier is an Argentine glacier located in Los Glaciares National Park in the province of Santa Cruz. It is located 78 kilometers from El Calafate, in Argentine Patagonia. Its glacial front, 5,000 meters long and 60 meters high, extends into Lake Argentino.
With a surface area of 250 km2 and a length of 30 kilometers, it is one of the 48 glaciers fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, in the Andes mountain range. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of only three glaciers in Patagonia that is not retreating. The glacier's front is approximately 5,000 meters long and 170 meters high, of which 74 meters are above water, the rest being under the waters of Lake Argentino. It advances at a rate of approximately two meters per day (700 meters per year). In some places its thickness reaches 700 meters.
