Lesser Rhea (Puna), Puna Rhea, Rhea pennata tarapacensis, 95 cm. / 37 in. NEAR THREATENED. UNCOMMON to RARE and declining. RESTRICTED to altiplano grasslands and shrubby areas, prefers flat areas with some wetlands.
