De roeireddingboot op deze foto is duidelijk van het model vlet.
Uit een historisch overzicht van KNZHRM stations Vlieland wordt duidelijk dat bij het station dorp en posthuis reddingsvletten zijn geplaatst. Vermeld wordt dat in 1909 dat vlet No. 1 bij station dorp wordt geplaatst, in 1934 wordt deze weer verwijderd.
Bij het posthuis komt ook een vlet te staan, onbekend vanaf wanneer, die wordt pas in 1953 afgevoerd.
Op de foto boven wordt de bootwagen met reddingboot het strand op getrokken door een paardentractie. Het lijkt er op dat het hier de strandovergang bij het badhuis betreft, op de achtergrond is een hoog duin zichtbaar dat Kaap-Bol kan zijn.
