On our last morning in Iguazu, a perfect ribbon of mist overlays the river, hiding the far bridge tower. The bridge is the Integration Bridge between Brazil and Paraguay, newly completed. They are still working on the approach roads. It is the longest cable-stayed bridge in South America. We are on the Argentinian side; this is the triple point between the three countries.

Les chutes d'Iguazú (en espagnol : cataratas del Iguazú), chutes d'Iguaçu (en portugais : cataratas do Iguaçu) ou encore chutes d'Iguassu, situées au milieu de la forêt tropicale, à la frontière entre l'Argentine (80 %) et le Brésil (20 %), sont des chutes d'eau constituant un site naturel inscrit au patrimoine mondial par l'UNESCO en 1984.
Il ne s'agit pas à proprement parler d'une chute, mais d'un ensemble de 275 cascades formant un front de trois kilomètres environ. La plus haute d'entre elles atteint les 80 m de hauteur. On l'appelle la Garganta del Diablo en espagnol ou Garganta do Diabo en portugais (« gorge du Diable »). L'ensemble des cascades déverse jusqu'à six millions de litres d'eau (soit six mille tonnes) par seconde.
