Former public house were Mr Rolls & Mr Royce would meet. Built in 18:13 and continued as a pub until 2014 when it closed its doors for the last time as a public house. 2019 saw it become a distillery to local distillers Forest Gin who needed somewhere to allow their whisky to sleep for a few years.
Inside the Sampan rum distillery in Hoi An, I captured the convergence of texture and craft where an aged wooden barrel rests in ambient light. The warm tones and rich patina speak to both the traditional aging process and Vietnam's emerging craft spirits scene.
